SMS Consent & Message Flow

This page documents how VesperVault collects explicit user consent before sending any automated SMS messages to emergency contacts.

Program Overview

Brand Name: VesperVault

Program Description: VesperVault is a personal safety check-in app. Users schedule regular check-ins, and if they miss one, the app automatically sends pre-written emergency SMS messages to their designated contacts to alert them.

Message Types: Emergency safety alerts (sent only when a user misses a scheduled check-in), all-clear notifications, and test messages (user-initiated).

Message Frequency: Messages are only sent when a user misses a scheduled safety check-in. Under normal use, contacts may receive a few messages per month at most. Most contacts will never receive a message unless an emergency occurs.

Opt-Out: Recipients can reply STOP to any message at any time to opt out of all future messages. Every emergency SMS includes an opt-out link.

Message and data rates may apply.

How Users Consent to Send Messages

Consent is collected at two points in the user journey, both within the VesperVault mobile app. Screenshots of each step are shown below.

1

Account Creation - Terms & Consent Checkbox
